Nothing can beat the thrill and excitement brought by playing team sports. Not to mention, the camaraderie it develop. While everyone’s fitness level and ability is different from each, aggressive and strenuous team sports we once enjoyed might pose high risk of injury as we begin to age.

Year-Round Sports (Outdoors or Indoors)

So, if you are now in your senior years and still want to engage in sports, here are few options that you might want to take part in.

Swimming

There are many indoor community pools that are offering the chance to swim lengths on top of classes. These are actually perfect for aging bones and joints and thus, ideal among seniors. Believe it or not, some even have hot/warm pool exercise activities.

Dancing

As a matter of fact, there are numerous dance lessons being offered nowadays and it is a nice way not just to have some fun but also, to be fit.

Zumba for instance is a form of dance class that is specifically designed with old folks in mind.

Badminton or Tennis

Actually, there are tennis/badminton courts that are available both for outdoor and indoor and offering year-round “ladders”. As for our oldies out there, you may opt to join playing these sports. You’d be even more surprise that some are offering “senior” leagues which promote your inner competitiveness and have fun at the same time.
